More than 130 alumni were present and had the occasion to meet with representatives of Malaysia-based French companies.

In her speech, the Ambassador recalled the importance of the alumni community in fostering ties between France and Malaysia. More than 700 Malaysians have returned from France after being trained in engineering, commerce, science or hospitality. Over 1,000 Malaysians are currently studying in France mainly through programmes managed through a strong French-Malaysian partnership.

The FUGAM - French Universities Graduates Association of Malaysia - is the only alumni association active since the 1970s. Its President Tunku Munirah Tunku Mustapha, herself a former student of the University of Aix-en-Provence, stressed the importance of coming together to revitalize the alumni network.
