The Embassy of France and the Alliance Française in Kuala Lumpur had the pleasure once again to participate this year at the European Film Festival, which took place from November 10 to 30 at the Golden Screen Cinemas of Kuala Lumpur and Penang.
As part of the Poland presidency of the European Union, the Polish Embassy in Kuala Lumpur was overall in charge of the coordination of the event in Malaysia. The European Film Festival presented the cultural diversity of member countries of the European Union through a selection of 23 films from 17 different countries. A variety of genres was represented, honoring children’s films, films in black and white, romantic comedies as well as political and historical dramas.
The Polish film "Venice" by Jan jakubKolski opened the Festival in Kuala Lumpur, while the French film "An Ordinary Execution," by Marc Dugain was selected to inaugurate the festival in Penang.
